About Balanced Life Therapy Center
As Jon Kabat-Zinn writes, “You can’t stop the waves, but you can learn how to surf.” The image of the wave for us represents the ever changing tides of life, and just as with surfing the ocean waves, we must also have balance when surfing the waves of life. Our practice is founded on the principle that each human has the ability to live the life they desire, to develop the skills that help them navigate the challenges and obstacles that life has put in their path.
We began this practice almost 5 years ago, and just as the waves grow larger and more powerful as they reach the shore, so has our practice grown larger and our passions more powerful as our purpose becomes clearer. What began as a few therapists sharing a small office with 2 chairs and a couch has grown into a collaboration of ideas and disciplines with the singular aim to bring forth wellness to those who choose to us to be a part of their journey.
We believe that balance is not found by focusing only on the body or the mind or the spirit, but by paying attention to the interconnectedness of all aspects of the human experience. Thus, we strive to have a center where the whole human is attended to and where people can begin to practice that which brings peace and balance into their lives. We look forward to working with whomever chooses to join us and we invite you all to explore the remainder of the website to see what we have to offer.
Balance is not necessarily a consistent state of being, it takes work and attention, using our human awareness to recognize when we are feeling unbalanced so that we may take the necessary steps to readjust. I believe wholeheartedly in every human being’s ability and right to find peace in their lives and in my conversations with those who choose to join me, I work to help them understand how they can create the kind of peace they are looking for in life.
I have been told that I have a gift of compassion and my passion is to see progress and relief from your struggles as fast as you want to heal. My clients have shared with me over the years that “I can just feel and see that you really care”. Through the relationship that I am able to build with each person individually, I have been able to assist with healing some severely hurt people.
Inspiration can come in many forms: perhaps a smile from a loved one, the adrenaline rush of an exciting new adventure, or feeling successful for a job well done. But what happens when you are not feeling inspired? Relationships that used to click, may feel strained, instead of feeling energetic, you may feel drained, or you may feel like you are not achieving success in one or more areas of your life.
